In general, nobody wants to see a letter from the IRS in their mailbox.
This was an exception.
On December 23, 2025 Feeding Blackford County got a letter from the IRS approving our not-for-profit corporation as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public charity. That means that we can receive funds that are tax-deductible to our donors.
It was a wonderful early Christmas gift and perfectly timed, so we could start 2026 out not needing to fundraise through other agencies. Small steps toward great things!
