Feeding Blackford County is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit in Blackford County, Indiana. It was developed when a temporary food distribution solution was needed after a local pantry closed its doors in Fall 2025. The original goal was to collect donations from Blackford County churches, companies, individuals, and charities to provide food to residents in need. Other groups and agencies took on the task of forming a permanent food pantry.
The amount of money raised exceeded our expectations! Those who organized the effort wanted our neighbors to have food during the holidays, and our community stepped up in big ways. Donations poured in!
While the organizers of this effort do not plan to open their own pantry, it’s clear that the community needs an independent safety net addressing food needs. With funding through government block grants or outside not-for-profits always in flux, we want a safety net that would always stay in this community.
That’s how Feeding Blackford County, Inc. was born. Donations to our 501(c)(3) are used for food only unless the donor requests otherwise. We do not have staff and are run completely by volunteers. Funds are distributed to food-related agencies and efforts that provide food for people in Blackford County.
